Revolution Shakespeare

Suit the action to the word, the word to the action

Revolution Shakespeare, based in Philadelphia, PA, invites audiences to experience the variety and vitality of Shakespeare's works with bold and honest productions at little to no cost for patrons.

At the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Love Hurts was an original theatre piece devised for the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Final Friday Lonely Hearts Club Event on February 24th, 2017. Through speeches, sonnets, and laments, Shakespeare's characters grappled with the thorniest emotion of them all, reminding audiences that the only thing worse than not being in love, is being in love.

The cast featured some old friends and new collaborators. Assistant Director of Five Kings, Claire Moyer, led the way with a cast featuring Carlo Campbell (King John), Amanda Jill Robinson (RevShakes' Fringe in Reading Terminal Market), Brett Robinson and Twoey Truong, both new to RevShakes, and our own Artistic Director Griffin Stanton-Ameisen. The piece also feature some beautifully painted signage, courtesy of local actor and artist Brian McCann.
